Chicago Force Meets for Games, Lunch, and Hobbits

As we enter the Year of the Clones, Chicago Force had our first event of 2002!

On Sunday, January 13, at 10:30 A.M., we headed to Gameworks to video game to our hearts’ content. We blew up a TIE Fighter or two and flashed our vents at Sebulba.

After that, we ate at Bennigan’s, We’ll also discussed the many events for the coming year, including Capricon 22, Star Wars Celebration II, and the line for Star Wars Episode II.

We then proceeded to Loews Theatres at Streets of Woodfield, for the 3:40 P.M. showing of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Chicago Force at the Hidden Fortress

On November 30, as we all wait for the next installment of the Star Wars prequel series, we viewed The Hidden Fortress, the 1958 Akira Kurosawa film that inspired George Lucas’ space saga. The film was shown as part of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs’ International Dinner and a Movie film festival. At 6 p.m., a Japanese-themed dinner was provided by Designed Cuisine, followed by the film at 7 p.m., which featured an introduction by Jonathan Rosenbaum, the film critic for the Chicago Reader.
