It was a beautiful day for a book signing at the Borders in Oak Brook. So at 2pm on Saturday, May 19th, that’s exactly what we did. We also had a mini bookclub and took Matt out to lunch afterwards.

Chicago Force Book Club Meeting

On Saturday, December 27, at 1:00 P.M., Chicago Force’s Errant Venture book club will discuss Rogue Planet by Greg Bear at the Borders on State Street. In this novel, taking place 3 years after the Battle of Naboo, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are sent to the mysterious planet of Zonama Sekot, a planet of living technology that will later play a role in The New Jedi Order.

Borders is located at 150 N. State Street. Book club participants will receive a 20% discount on the book when purchased at that store. Chicago Force November Book Club Meeting

Lando’s not a Trilogy, he’s a man!

On Saturday, November 22, at 1 p.m., Chicago Force’s Errant Venture book club will discuss The Lando Calrissian Adventures by L. Neil Smith. We’ll talk about this collection of stories featuring everyone’s favorite cape-wearing con artist, back in the days when he owned the Millennium Falcon.

We’ll meet at the Barnes & Noble at 590 E. Golf Road in Schaumburg. At approximately 3 p.m., we’ll have lunch at Fuddruckers at 436 E. Golf Road. Chicago Force Book Club and Lakefront Picnic

On Saturday, June 28 join Chicago Force for its monthly Errant Venture book club meeting, followed by our annual Lakefront Picnic.

At 1:00 P.M., we’ll discuss I, Jedi by Michael Stackpole at the Borders on State Street. In this first-person novel, Corran Horn searches for his wife in this story that takes place concurrently with The Jedi Academy Trilogy. At approximately 3:00 P.M., we’ll proceed to Millennium Park as we have our annual Lakefront Picnic. It’s a potluck affair, so please bring something to share with the group. Please RSVP and post what dish you’ll be bringing in this FanForce forum thread. Souls who are brave enough can grab something at Taste of Chicago which is a few blocks away. Those who don’t want to deal with the crowds can just come to the park. Millennium Park is located east of Michigan Avenue, between Washington and Madison Streets.
