Chicago Force goes to the zoo!

Brookfield Zoo is hosting its Zoo Stars Parade on Sunday, 8/20/06, and Chicago Force wants you to come and see! There will be several costumed Star Wars characters in attendance, representing Chicago Force, the 501st Midwest Garrison, the Rebel Legion Midwest Base, and the Jedi Assembly Midwest Order.

Brookfield Zoo will be open from 9:30am to 6pm that day, with the parade starting at 1pm in the North Mall and ending at the East Mall.

General admission to the zoo lasts all day, priced as follows:
Adults (12-64) $10.00
Children (3-11) $6.00
Seniors (65+) $6.00
Children 2 and Under Free
Members Free

Car/Van parking $8.00

21st Chicago Hunger Walk

On Saturday, June 24, Chicago Force joined the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s Hunger Walk at Montrose Harbor. This annual event raises money for this city’s food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, feeding half a million people a year.

The lighting was not very good for photos, unfortunately. Either they were too dark or out of focus, or both. The video turned out pretty good, though.

‘Nuff said.

OK, OK, maybe there’s more to say. Like it was a bunch of fun. But you knew that. I should say that my still camera gave up the ghost that morning, so I was unable to take regular pictures. And I am too lazy to go through the video and make still captures.

But this year we introduced the “gun cam”, a small camera placed above the barrel of our own DarthGoat’s marker. And Thom takes a header, complete with face-plant-feet-in-the-air. It’s classic.
