2018 Zoo Tree Trim

On Sunday, November 18th, we braved the cold to decorate our tree at Brookfield Zoo. Look below to find photos, but first let us present how we got our decorations. Or how I like to put it:TreeTrimTitle

Roundhouse Report!

The Roundhouse in Aurora is a historic building that was originally used by the railroad to build trains. It fell into disuse, until Chicago Bear Walter Payton bought it and made it into the Roundhouse restaurant. It is now owned by Two Brothers Brewery and operates as both a distillery and a restaurant.

Now that we’ve seen the building, time for the tour:

Joliet Star Wars Day 2018

There’s a gathering of geeks, a herd of nerds, an awakening of the dark, and the light. You know, Joliet Library Star Wars Day!

This event keeps growing, along with the fun!

Tree Trim 2017

Another year, another trip to Brookfield Zoo to decorate a tree with homemade Star Wars ornaments.

First, the making of the baubles:

It was a sunny but chilly day on Sunday:

And we were ready to decorate:

Our two-part crew:

Of course, a trip to the carousel was in order:

And how can you go to the zoo without seeing the animals?

Galloping Ghost Arcade!

It was a dark and stormy night. Really, O’Hare got four inches of rain and the southern suburbs got eight. But that didn’t stop us from meeting at Lencho’s house and continuing on to Galloping Ghost.

We watched the new trailer for The Last Jedi multiple times. Then threw up some Star Wars Blips, Thor and other fun videos as we chowed on pizza. Then we braved the rain to head to Galloping Ghost.

So quick game, spot a member of Chicago Force!

And of course, we all spent a little time in what I like to call the Star Wars corner:

All in all, despite the weather, it was a great time.
